Independent nurseries often grow part of their own stock and carry varieties that do well in the local climate, while big-box garden departments compete on price for common plants. Wholesale nurseries and growers sell to landscapers and sometimes to the public at volume prices; tree nurseries sell balled-and-burlapped and container trees and can deliver and plant large specimens. Specialty growers focus on bonsai, cactus and succulents, orchids or native plants, and hydroponics stores sell lights, nutrients and systems for growing indoors.

We had the greatest experience at Bountiful Gardens. They not only have such a beautiful and vast variety of plants to offer, but the staff is incredible as well. Dan helped my husband and I plan out our wildflower garden dream. It couldn’t have been an easier process. They were quick and efficient (much appreciated in the heat and with small children in tow) and Dan understood my vibe and was very receptive to what I was looking for. Dan was very knowledgeable and we had a great time creating our garden. 10/10 would recommend visiting here!!

Needed a potted dianthus to fill and open area in my garden and stopped down at Bountiful Gardens. When I found the plant I was looking for and ready to pay, Yahaira was at the cash register. To my surprise she knew my name! It definitely was a pleasant and unexpected surprise to me but also a subtle indication as to how long I have been coming here for my plants. They have always had what I was looking for in addition to having a wide selection of plants at reasonable prices.

If you are looking for an extraordinary experience at a plant nursery look no further than Bountiful Gardens. It was a bit of a drive from our homen to their location in Hillsborough but it was worth every minute. Daniel, the manager, is so knowledgeable about his inventory of trees and shrubs and a bonus is that he specializes in native trees and shrubs. He really listened and helped us identify native trees and shrubs that would have the best success given our aesthetic goals, sunlight and watering. Truly a gem of a plant nursery. And an excellent experience!

Bountiful Gardens in Hillsborough was recommended to me by a friend. When I took the recommendation, I was primarily concerned that the nursery have a wide variety of plants to choose from. As it turns out, the selection at Bountiful Gardens is huge. Just as importantly, I wanted advise about redoing the small garden plot in front of my townhome. And I am pleased to report that the customer service at Bountiful Gardens is every bit as good as their selection of plants. From the moment I started talking to Dan Ilkow, their Landscape Designer, I knew I was in good hands. Although modest in terms of size, I wanted a total makeover of the garden. Once I spelled out my needs, I received the time and attention to detail that resulted in a very successful project. Dan's education in horticulture allowed him to provided sound advice regarding the choice of plants, the layout of the garden and the various options available to me. Throughout the process he was excellent in communicating the steps involved and their timing. The team they sent to do the work arrived on time, worked efficiently and before planting anything verified the layout. As a bonus, Dan actually checked in with the crew

Really beautiful nursery with a wide variety of both native and non-native plants. They're experts who will happily give advice and now we won't go anywhere else, happily making the 50-min drive south from Essex county. Oh yeah, and they have a frequent shopper program too!
